A Glimpse of Japan by a Christian English teacher is just what this book is about. A glimpse, a peek, a fleeting view of a beautiful, old country filled with traditions that fill almost every aspect of daily life. Facts and my personal experience in Japan became the backdrop for this book. Living and visiting in Japan for a time of almost five years I was able to be part of the daily living, become a member of the real life going ons. Because of this I was able to understand a lot of what life was like for my Japanese students. Those of us who know of God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ I believe have an obligation to share this anyway we can. My husband and I did this through an English outreach program. Living, working for the church and getting to see and know others in the mission field was a wonderful experience. My husband and I both felt it was an undeniably a high point in our lives.
